Become a Friend of Literacy!
Ottawa Community Coalition for Literacy (OCCL) has served and supported the adult literacy community in Ottawa since 1984. We are a non-profit, charitable organization that:
- offers information and referral, outreach and networking
- helps literacy agencies build capacity to address emerging needs
- builds partnerships in the community
- promotes best practices in service delivery
- coordinates service planning and project management
- provides professional development for literacy practitioners
OCCL is funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. We also receive funding from other sources including “Friends of Literacy”.
Your annual Friend of Literacy membership gives you the following benefits:
- four issues of our newsletter, The Update plus email updates between issues
- news of upcoming literacy conferences, events, publications and reports
- reduced rates when you attend OCCL’s workshops
- an invitation to OCCL’s Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- voting privileges at the AGM
- the pleasure of supporting adult literacy activities
We invite you to print the membership form, fill it in and send it to the Coalition with your membership fee and/or donation.
If you’d like to make a donation to OCCL we issue charitable tax receipts for donations of $10 or more above the membership fee.
Our membership year runs from April 1 to March 31.
