Ottawa Community Coalition for Literacy - Welcome!

2009 Learner Achievement Award

On May 28 at the PGI Ottawa Golf Tournament for Literacy Omar Hassan from the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board received the Learners Achievement Award. The award included a framed certificate, a cheque for $200 and a book.

Omar sent a note to express his appreciation:

Thank you for this Learner Achievement Award. I think the book (2009 Guinness Book of Records) is different and I like it. I was shocked when I opened the envelope. I kept on looking at it. I am happy you chose me. I really enjoyed the meal. My brother was excited to be there also. I was so happy that I forgot to make the speech. It was so nice to meet you in person.

Thank you again
Omar Hassan
